Tuesday morning seemed like any other morning, except that it wasn’t. Tuesday marked the 5th anniversary of my best friend beating cancer, and for that reason Tuesday was a day of celebration. It was a day to celebrate life, and a day to celebrate new beginnings.
With this on my mind as I pulled into work, I noticed a flash of color on the ground. Hardly believing my eyes, I walked over to find a single Morning Glory flower. How appropriate to find this flower on a day where I had already been thanking God for His mercy and glory.
Life can throw us a lot of curve balls. Sometimes we’re able to dodge them, but other times we’re hit smack dab in the center. When this happens, take heart because God has the ability to create streams through the desert. (Isaiah 35:6) No matter what you might be facing today, look to the One who is making all things new. He will never fail nor abandon you, so hold tightly to His hand as you face each day knowing you are never alone.
“Be strong and brave, and don’t tremble in fear of them, because the Eternal your God is going with you. He’ll never fail you or abandon you!” Deuteronomy 31:6 (VOICE)
Today, as I celebrate the life of my beautiful friend, I do so in the knowledge that each hour of our lives is carved into the palms of your hands. Thank You for every second You keep us alive. May we use the time given as a way to bring joy to others, knowing that no matter what we face, we are never alone.
