Review of NIV Beautiful Word Coloring Bible
As a member of the Harper Collins book review team, I’m reviewing the NIV Beautiful Word Coloring Bible
Containing the complete NIV text, this is a hard cover Bible with extra wide margins on each side of the page. The margins contain lightly ruled lines for taking notes or drawing pictures. The Bible contains hundreds of verses to color on your own. The majority of the coloring verses are found on the sides in the margins, but some are full page (as shown in picture below) The paper is thicker and printed on white in order to better support writing and coloring on the pages.
I’ve been such a huge fan of all the coloring Bibles that have been coming out over the last year, so I couldn’t wait to get this one through the mail to review it. In all honesty, I was a little disappointed in it. This was mainly due to the size of the Bible. At 6.7 x 1.8 x 8.5 inches, it is a bit on the small side. Because the margins, the print is reduced (not full page) and therefore the print is harder to see and read. I also thought that some of the photos to color were too small to color. I prefer larger print so I realize I’m comparing this one to my own Bible, which is a bit unfair. Also, I realize that most people who buy this Bible are doing so for the worship aspect of coloring and drawing their own pictures, and not as their main Bible. It’s exactly how I would use this Bible myself. Overall, I still recommend this one. I think it is a beautiful book and the editors chose the perfect verses for coloring. I also think it would make a great gift, in fact I’ve already passed this one on to a friend, and she loved it.
