Review of Kids’ NIV Visual Study Bible
As a member of the Book Look Bloggers book review team, I’m reviewing the Kids’ NIV Visual Study Bible.
As a book reviewer, my favorite book to review will always be the Bible. I love seeing how different concepts can be used to make a Bible user friendly to so many different groups of people. For this Bible, that group is centered around kids. Using the complete NIV version of the Old and New testament, this Bible is filled with colorful illustrations and photos. Each page has a yellow border that contains a photo or drawing on at least every other page. Those borders also contain a more in depth discussion of several verses picked from the page. A presentation page is in the front, and twelve maps are located in the back, along with a short index.
Overall, I really liked this Bible. I believe that kids will find it easy to use and will enjoy all the photos found throughout. Although not designed for adults, I found the print very hard to read due to the size. This is a smaller Bible overall at 5.5 x 8.7 so using a border made the print shrink in size. I don’t think children will have a problem reading it though and for that I give this book a thumbs up and recommend it.
