Review of Faces of Praise: Photos & Gospel Inspirations to Encourage & Uplift
As a member of the Hachette Book Group book review team, I get to choose the books I want to review. As a huge fan of music I chose to review the book “Faces of Praise: Photos & Gospel Inspirations to Encourage & Uplift. I couldn’t wait to dive in and see what it was all about.
When I received this book in the mail I was immediately taken by it. The colorful cover was a prelude to what the inside held, which was an overwhelming (in a good way) feast for the senses. I’m a photographer so when I saw the full color photos on almost every page (including the inside cover) I was beside myself with excitement. This was before I even read any of the devotions.
If you love gospel music, photography, and Jesus you are going to love this book. The book is the perfect size to carry around with you, and the inspirations are just that. They are words to inspire you in your everyday life. Each mini devotion is written based on the music of the most popular gospel singers of all time; singers such as Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, Tasha Cobbs, and the Winans family. The inspiration contains the artists name, a name of one of their songs, the mini devotion and a full color concert photo of the artist. This book truly is a work of art and I’m excited to be able to recommend it to all of my readers. I also can’t wait to give this to my sister who is a huge fan of gospel music.
